Brahma Owners--Latest a Brahma Has Ever Laid the First Egg?

I own two, a Lt. Brahma and a Buff Brahma, both 27 weeks old now. Miranda, the Lt. Brahma, began laying early at 19.5 weeks. Caroline, my Buff Brahma, is acting hormonal and her face and wattles are pretty red, but so far, no egg. She is in a pen awaiting the blessed event and not allowed to freerange very much so she doesn't plop it down just anywhere. What is the latest you've had a Brahma begin laying?

Slifer's not a good example, but she didn't lay an egg until she was over two years old. But since your birdies are normal

, I would give her some more time. Heavy breeds can go almost to six months before they lay.

LOL, I sure hope I don't have to wait a year for it! Boy, that Slifer was one of a kind!
