Brahma sexing help

I own Dark Brahma, thought I might jump in here with something useful to say, as the Dark Brahma Cockerels develop so pretty distinctive "bars" or "stripes" (not to be confused with barring) for lack of better term on their wings, which can aid identification - but find not only that you don't have DB, but yours have five toes!

So, I'm going to to say I meant well, but in this case, the only way I can do well is to keep my suspicion to myself and plead ignorance here. Do come back with fresh pictures in a few weeks, so we can learn with you???

I got some info from the breeder, they say they have a mix of pure and blue partridge, but didn’t mention anything why it might have 5 toes 🤨

But yep definitely can confirm the diets are high in cereals around here. My much more experienced chook breeding friend told me that was the case.
I’ve attached some photos of the little ones feet and legs, but momma chook is very defensive so maybe didnt manage the best shots as had to be quick 😅
Her legs don’t seem too yellow at the moment, more of a pink skinned colour.

many thanks for the helping in identifying her or him. I’m very new at this but learning a lot.
And that’s a beautiful chook you have in your profile pic! I’m hoping to have one like that one day 😁
Looks to be a mix then! Maybe part Dorking or Faverolles, both have pink skin and five toes. :) Yellow is recessive so when bred with a white/pink skinned parent it will most likely have white skin

Definitely on the pink side.
Many thanks for the help! Will see how she/he develops in the next few weeks

I'm gonna say pullet just because that's about the same comb development my light brahma had at that age, but I'm curious to see what more experienced folks have to say since it's a mix. Either way beautiful little babe you have there😉

Seeming like a pullet for now, but I won't swear to it.
Also curious about the five toes. Faverolles, Dorkings, and Silkies all have five toes, or it could just be a genetic anomaly. :idunno
I'd ask the breeder if they have any stray five-toed birds running around that could have accidentally snuck in there.
S/he is gorgeous, mix or not!

Many thanks everyone for your kind replies!

That’s encouraging news that’s she looking like a pullet 🥳 as I am not allowed to keep cockerels.
As of yet no reply from the breeder, but I have seen they also sell Silkies 🤔

Will post an update if I get any news.

thanks again and it’s very much appreciated!

What a lovely chick, no matter what. I’m like you though, new at this and just want to know what I have.
