Are you trying to tell me choosing every color in the end is inevitable?

Get one of each. You really have to live with a bird before you can decide about a big commitment. I fell in love with the buffs, but once I saw a really good quality white, that was it. Same with cochins - love 'em! But, I can't breed everything, and I love the Brahmas, the JGs, and the Faverolles more. I love all of the breeds I have, but something about these three really clicks with me, so those are the ones I'll be working on. You really have to spend some time with the living animals for awhile. Sometimes, what really grabs you in the show hall or a book gets a little boring when you're looking at it day after day. What is great to one person about a variety means nothing to another. That way, when you finally make your decision, it will be based on your own experience.

I loved my 2 Brahma pullets so much raising them from itty babies I got 2 more! These girls are 6 weeks old here. My daughter sat down for a snack and they came running up to see if they could have some. They are so funny to watch. They are also very attached to each other. They were raised alone for 5 weeks with only each other and us. If one gets stuck on the other side of the fence, or one gets in the coop, the other gets frantic looking for her. They are the Siamese twins. This is Jacqueline and Marian.

They have awesome personalities. Now that I know about differences of breeding lines I doubt they will be able to show, but my daughter would love to get a couple to show next year for 4H. Even if they aren't up to par she might show her favorites for the experience. We don't care about the winning part this is all just a lot of fun for us.
This is Victoria. She is annoyed.

This is Olive. She is the crazy crowd surfer. She loves to jump off the food dish.

The cockerel was a precocious crower. Starting at 3 months of age. He did have some big Cochin boys teaching him how.

danpowell, you know you have to post pictures of these birds. I'd have to save up for flight tickets otherwise and break into your coops, and considering where I live, it would be no mean feat....!
