Just a reply regarding the post that it appears that Dan Powell has " thrown in the towel". I would not say that Dan has thrown in the towel, but that he is on to other projects in life. He has dispersed all of his livestock I think, but he is a young man and may be back working with poultry and llamas in the future. Who knows ? Probably not even him at this time.
He accomplished some pretty remarkable things with the chickens and llamas in a short time.

yes, the auction in schylerville, i don't go too often, but its a good animal auction.

i know, if anybody has large roos to sell, right now is the time because they were selling for $15 a piece last time i went two weeks ago. also, does anybody who goes to that auction or lives close to New York have a light brahma bantam roo that they would like to trade or sell.

Hello Everyone,
We just ordered our Dark Brahma pullets chicks from Mt Healthy and they should hatch/arrive next week :) So excited about getting our girls...Only bad thing was that we had to order 15 and find people that wanted the other 10 chicks (thankfully I have 2 friends that will take 5 each)
I hope ours are a friendly as people say they are....Now to get started working on the chicken tractor :) and get the brood area set up.

i only meant that he has stopped working with livestock and the farm, in his own words, we have gone out of biz. I hope he does return to work with poultry again in the future.

i don't know of anyone with a light brahma roo bantam to sell or trade, keep watching the auction, also you might watch for local swaps where you might find one.

Everyone gets burnt out on projects after so long. Dan has been working on the (BUFF LACED BRAHMA PROJECT) since 2000 I would think it's time to move on to after 12 years. He still has his own personal flocks he's just not selling birds anymore plus the man has to be 70+ years old. It's ALOT OF WORK! keeping up with poultry. Not to metion hatching and raising them. Also another reason he got out of it is because the Brahma's are getting more populated and sell now for a 1/4 of what Dan was originally charging. For example Dan was charging $99.00 for a day old unsexed chick now you can get them for $25 for a day old unsexed chick. And in some cases cheaper if you say win them on an auction or something. Dan didn't throw in the towl just took some time off do other things. I'm in BIZZ tho does anybody want to buy some Dan Powell Brahma's? Lol

I ordered a brahma and I got some chicks but I can't identify them. There is one that looks somewhat like a brahma but she has featherless feet.
