really love the silver laced brahmas may i ask some ? how big are they? how long have you been breeding them ? who true does the lacing run ? and were can i get some??? thank you for any information

Oldest is 3.5 months old. The oldest looks good so far. It is looking like my birds will have wider tails than the rooster I used to make them. That is definitely something I was worrying about. The oldest is a rooster and he is already getting some weight on him. Last time I weighed him was at 12 weeks old and he weighed 4lbs. 7 ozs. I know they take a while to mature but I was just curious if the color pattern was something normal. Every single chick has better secondaries than primaries.

I'll bet you will see improvement on primaries and secondaries when they get their adult feathers.

yes they are beautiful birds !!! i used to raise them i got my birds from TOM WILTSHIRE he got eggs from Germany !!! the thing with the GERMAN strian is they had very bad vulture hocks . it took use a few years of crossing males on dark pollets to breed that out of them . tom sold his birds years ago due to his age and i about the same time due to a divorce ! miss the birds and would love to get some more some day i think tom sold his to a woman in minnasota ??? dont know her name but wish i did i would call her for sure love your birds though very beautiful probably our strain though keep up the good work want brahmas 2

I'll bet you will see improvement on primaries and secondaries when they get their adult feathers.

Good. There are two that I am almost positive won't have good coloring. They were almost completely buff when they hatched. I think they are both roosters so I will probably caponize one or maybe both of them.

For me it's not the "not knowing about show birds", but wanting to breed them for myself. I also don't have 100$-200$ for a quality bird. It is not that I am saying they are not worth the money.... Just saying I have two small kids and no expendable money for the risk. You always take a risk (quality breeder or not) of introducing a disease when getting a bird from someone else.
It may not be "talking to the wrong crowd that just doesn't know better" and more people who love breeding a better brahma with what funds or chickens they have available.

NIKKI years ago when i was starting raising birds my friend Tom Wiltshire gave me a bit of great advice he said it coast as much to raise a show bird as it does to raise a bad bird !!! and i live by that . want brahmas 2 p.s. im new to this site and im trying to learn it so please be patient thank you

First time Brahma owner here! this is Amaretto. She is supposed to be a cross - Buff Brahma/BLRW. I have no clue what she is going to look like, but i just fell in love with her little eyes. I was told she's about9 weeks? look about right? She is just such a little pistol!

lol... yea, the day i brought them home it was 101 degrees out, so i put up a baby screen on my laundry room and let them have the run of the room for a day or so. It was so fun. Made it kind of hard to take them out to the tajmahal the next day. My cat liked them.

I am assuming from looking at all of your gorgous pictures of Brahma babies, that mine will not have the big feathers on her legs and feet? bummr.
