Thank you for the kind comments about Mrs Grey....and confirmation that my daughter is an 'average' 5' 5" tall....tee hee!

She has the sweetest disposition, but is VERY greedy. She took about 2 years to reach her full size, and has continued to put on weight. She hasn't laid eggs for a while, and I think this could well be that she is too fat.....

So this was supposed to have been a dark Brahma-actually I thought at first it was my light as it was an all yellow chick and I had another one that looked like a dark brahma chick but that turned out to be the light brahma. Also this is not an atypical buff as I have a buff Brahma chick and it has tons of black and this doesn't seem to have any. As far as size it has kept up with the buff Brahma which has always been the biggest chick but now it seems to be slowing down and is one of the smaller ones. She came from Ideal Sept 19 so the chicks are 5 weeks. Is this even a Brahma as I can't find any pictures with this color. Will the spots go away?(I actually like them and hope she keeps them!) She used to have more lighter spots but they have since faded to this buff color and same with the darker spots they were darker but also have faded a bit.

Any ideas?

did you send a post to where you purchased? No idea, but I love the red too!

CluckyCharms....good luck with the hatch.

I posted a pic of a bald headed Blue Partridge Brahma a couple of weeks and there was speculation it could be rooster damage. Glad to say her bald head has been replaced by a punk hairdo.

The fact she is just now replacing feathers tends to make me think that it was likely rooster induced. Went through the same thing here. Had a hen who the rooster really took a shine to for some reason, she had considerable feather damage, while her pen mates all looked fine. She ended going broody for the past couple months, bare backed the whole time. Just broke herself up, and finally went into moult, a couple weeks ago
