They look to be Buff Brahmas with the one glaring exception. The top bird looks to have no foot feathering. Which of course is one of the important breed characteristics that makes a Brahma, a Brahma. BTW, welcome to Brahmas!

Mmm-hmm Wednesday I was at our most local feed store, and what did they have? Brahmas with no feathers on their feet. Other than that... they were perfect for hatchery birds. maybe the feathers were slow to come out on the feet. Because there were brahmas right with them that did not have that problem.

I have a partridge brahma pullet and would like to hear some comments on the quality.
I will weigh her tomorrow but I think she weighs about 3kg 's.
The can beside her is a standard soft drink tin.
She is about 6 months old and started to lay this week

This is the alpha rooster of the flock and most likely the dad.

All comments will be appreciated.

Having both Cochins and Brahmas, these appear to be nice big birds. In the picture, the tails seem to be held low, and the female appears to have almost a Cochin-like cushion but that may just be the pictures. I'll let the Brahma experts comment further. Wouldn't mind a few in my yard.

generally it has been my experience that if no foot feathers at hatching then no foot feathers develope, i hope that is not your experience, best of luck

The down on their toes at hatch is a great indication of feathering to come. There is a brief period of relative nakedness as the feathering comes in, but it is in stages.

Thank you for your kind reply. Is having a cochin like cushion bad in Brahmas?
Any other opinions?
Maybe TIm who is the VP of the Brahma club can post some pics of Chads LF to show a proper topline. I like Cochins so it doesn't bother me, but it is not correct for Brahmas. Also it just may be how they were standing when the pic was taken.

These might help if did this right.
