I'm going to call Sam and Matt about having "roo'let" in the glossary of the next addition of the standards. Maybe "roo" and "girl" too??? Maybe a diagram of the correct way to "diaper" a house bird? Somebody STOP me!

Tim

Come on man, pull it together. You sell propane, and propane accessories, after all.

I don't need a big net, or even a coat with long sleeves. Now, if you have a rubber room handy, I could probably be happy in one of those for a week or two - I could use the rest!

By the way, I didn't pair black to black. I paired black (hen) to blue partridge (roo), then black hen (as well as other blue hens) to her son who was mostly blue - that's when I got some interesting colors.

Another by the way - don't be calling me a "he," I'm a "she."

Anyway, here's one of the black girls who started it all -

I also got several clean-legged chicks like the roo'let (yup, I like that word) on the left, so ended that experiment -

Just for record I know you didn't breed black to black. Was just using it as an example that sometimes that blue gene doesn't behave the way it should and we might not know it as well as we all think we do.

Hi all I hope to join the thread as I have been lurking for a few weeks and trying to get as much breed specific info as I can I have been breeding a few lines of New Hampshires for a few years and lavender marans and EE,s so not new to poultry but definitely new to Brahmas I have 24 mixed light dark and buff in the bator on day 7 and plan to candle tonight they are sourced from a breeder about two hours up the road with some of the best parent stock in the country one line out of the U.S and one from Spain his birds are simply stunning and am looking forward to my upcoming hatch I hope to end up with a few trios and kick off my own line with introducing some stock from the states later next year but we will see how it all plays out,,,,,, thanks for all the good info I picked up from everyone when I was still in the closet

Twelve big birds should produce at least a few good birds for a nice foundation. You should bring some to Shawnee. Chad would appreciate the competition(me too on Bantams) AND you might pick up a bird or two to supplement your foundation. The list of judges is outstanding for a change.

Tim
We'll see if I have anything worth making the 700+ mile drive for, AND if Shawnee is still intact come Dec.

Who are the judges and what about the "OK mafia"?
