Here are two males and one female I hatched last year.

Having a case of the Broody Blues - one of my LF Partridge Girls (3 of 6 have gone broody this year and 2 of the three have chicks now) was setting a batch of 19 - I had her in the grow pen with the other two broody moms who already have chicks, but each day I noticed a cracked egg in her nest. I decided to move her (as I have done in the past rather successfully) and this time she left her nest and abandon on 19 eggs she had a week invested in. Seems one of the Mother (the one with 6 week old chicks) decided to begin laying again and was fighting with her to get on the nest and lay...Who would have thought they would have started laying again so soon!!! Oh Well...if she wants to go broody some more I have eggs from my Best Dark and Best Partridge Girl Collected and will try again.

Fun part of today was choosing who was staying, who gets replaced and who gets sold. I have 4 Partridge Hens, A Partridge Pullet, 3 Partridge Cockerals and a Dark Pullet available if anyone is interested. These are all LF!

Yes Joe, those are some good looking birds. That second male looks like some of mine.

What do you think about the type of the first male?

Thanks Tim. I knew that color wasnt great, The male is ok. The second male has done well in the shows. The female just finished a molt and will hopefully be in condition in the fall.

Don and I kinda said the same thing, so I feel like its right on. I'd breed from the second male, although the excess black in the first birds hackle, might make him good for producing good colored females. I would make sure the females you breed him to have exceptional tails though.

The second male reminds me of this one of mine. Yours has better color though. Greg calls this one a "Tank".
