Oh god, brahmas are so pretty! I only have mutt pullets myself, and they are going to bee about average size once fully grown (I've seen the flock they came from, a neighbor lets his chickens roam free in the street...). I want to get a rooster to help protect them from stray cats that tend to wander into our backyard, and I was looking into brahmas. Would a brahma rooster be too big to be kept around more regular size hens?

I have pictures of the babies in their new coop
the partridge boys

a long shot of all the babies

I'll try and get better up close but they hate my camera phone when it snaps the shot it makes a weird noise and it doesn't have a change setting

hi I have three of the light brahmas and she looks like mine! She's a cutie. They lighten up a bit as they get their feathers in an will have black and white feather tips...good luck!

Picked up my chicks today, and the little Buff Brahma girl is ADORABLE!!!! She looks like a little golden butterball - lol! And FEISTY! She let the week-old girls know she wouldn't be taking any of their guff

Hi Everyone,

Thought I'd post some updated pics of my three. It's been really interesting to watch them develop. They sure have changed so much!

d'Artagnan is quite an accomplished crower, has been since he was about 12 weeks old now. Aramis tries very hard to accomplish a perfect crow but still has a way to go LOL
Tilly's (Matilda) comb and waddles are starting to redden up so hopefully it won't be long now before she gives us her first egg. Yaay...can't wait. After that, can't wait to breed some babies!!

I'm assuming these are not hatchery birds??

They are wonderful! My Light Brahma's are 15 days old today and I can't imagine they are going to look like that in a week (3 weeks old) they are so scrawny and dark compared to yours
