I'd be thrilled to do that, my chicks are coming in January

Will you be breeding 2 varieties of Brahma then?

Or will the Blue Partridge strictly be eye candy?

My current plan is to breed both

DO breed them in the States, and be prepared for their Gold/Blue Partridge/Splash babies. (and some of these if your brahmas aren't too fussy about their mates)

I believe that's actually a partridge x columbian.

(or full Columbian, making her a Lemon Pyle, but a little dark in color)

Look to have much better hocks on the first male. You've got plenty of material to work with here.

There comes a time when one must decide if they are a breeder, or a reproducer. Two distictly different paths.

Good, very glad to hear that. The follow up step to that is to make sure he finds a home as the protector of a backyard flock with no breeding aspirations. This can be harder than you might think, I have sold culls as back yard layers, only to have someone later add $2+$2 and then finding eggs from these birds posted for sale.
