Glad to hear you are doing so well with your birds. I remember one of your Son's was especially fond of the Buff Cockerel. I'm pretty sure the "other guy" is Chad Spence. Don't cull too early, let them grow past the ugly stage at least. One of my early mistakes was culling too soon. Some birds that are of liitle value as show birds make excellent breeders. You need some "over" colored birds to keep good color in your showbirds.

Tim,

We are hatching every Wed. We raised this hen from a chick we got last spring. We got a pair of Buff and Lights from you and the other guy at cross roads. So we are hatching from yours and ours. You and the other guy told us some good info at Indy in picking out show stock. And we have been culling our hatches by this. We have been hatching since Dec.but these are two young yet for showing. cant wait to see results.
We have another show in two weeks.

Thanks for all the help

My 4 year old bantam buff has never gone broody...she's thought about it a couple of times, but decided it seemed like too much work:)

Mine is 4 yrs. old and lays 5-6 days a week except winter and molt.
