As too the pictures you posted, need to see better shot of the feet/foot feathering to have a better idea of of what you have there. I see nothing that would make me want to get rid of this guy yet. Looks to have a nice comb. My cockerels (large fowl) go through such a prolonged period of ugly gangliness that I am convinced every year, that something has gone terribly wrong, and I will have no males worth keeping. Patience is key, let them grow into that frame, and see how they turn out. I'll defer to Tim as to the finer points of the columbian pattern.
