I recently had my very sweet bantam Cochin pass away from being egg bound. Now I’m a little scared to try another bantam, I have no idea if that’s a common thing for those little ladies. Or if our weird northern California weather is to blame. I’m torn between these two breeds... whose had them and which would you recommend?
I’ve got two sweet ameraucanas and a buff Orpington roo right now

I love both breeds though I think that I like the Brahma personality over the Cochin bantam. Brahmas are like the Buddhas of the chicken world and the Cochins are sweet, stick around really well, but a bit more sass. I have Mottled bantam Cochins currently and have never had one go egg bound - sorry for your poor girl.
