That means lots coming from you, Kathryn. I'm speeding right through this one. Won't be long and I'll be ready to do the border. This snowy, cold, windy weather keeps me inside and I get much more done.
ETA: I'm finished with seven of the nine blocks and half done with the eighth. Should have this one finished before the holidays hit.
I have all the blocks finished and one side of the border quilted. I think the gold metallic thread will look great on that outer border. Then, I'll have to make bias binding and I haven't done that in many, many years. I hope they gave me enough of the stripey fabric for it in the kit. I'll post a picture when it's finished. Hopefully, goldenluver will have her quilt before the end of the month.
ETA: Today, Saturday, I have the third side of the border almost finished, so with the snow coming tomorrow, I think I'll be finished with it and be working on the binding.
Thanks! I made the bias binding, all the while hoping I didn't muck it up since I never do that, and the stripes had to be diagonal and not straight up and down for it to look like the picture shows on the package. There were no instructions for making the binding, just "make the bias binding".
Anyway, I need to quilt a motif in the two outer corners and it will be completely finished and ready to bind.
Barbara, do you want me to send the remaining fabric back to you from this project? There isn't much, but it's your fabric, of course. Could be good if it needs a bit of repair in the future.
I was sweating bullets over the binding. There were no instructions and since the stripes should be diagonal plus I don't recall making bias binding other than once 20 years ago, it was a bit hairy. It worked out just fine, though.
