BRAND NEW PEACOCK COLOR

You know this spring on e-bay some seller from Florida had an ad for selling 1/2 black shoulder IB eggs, said they had been working on this "project" for many years now, but was now willing to share their efforts thru egg sales of this "rare" b/s mutation. I called them out on this and got some very nasty replies back but the picture of their "project" bird looked identical to my regular-run of the mill IB barred patterned male who does have several solid black feathers as flights. I think for UPA to accept the new pattern you may or may not have I'm sure they want membership, and I'm sure there are many UPA members on here that can verify (I'm not a member)

Thanks for the tip on submitting a photo of my new color bird right away. I got photos off to two of the officers and I am having the submission forms sent to me. Thanks again......Peacock Man.

I would like to see the submission form out of curiosity if you do not mind sharing it. So do you have anymore pictures of it? Why is it that the peacock's train also has the green coloring to it?

PeacockMan! This was what I was waiting for when you asked the question

Some other questions for you. Is this a young male? Sid from Texaspeafowl may end up calling on you. If not, I'd contact him. He works with newer mutations, but my suggestion is to do the breeding yourself, and keep track of where all the offspring end up. I can't wait to see him in full train fanning! Exciting!

This bird is a three year old male that just lost his train. It has taken this peacock 3 full years to color out. I am sure I may get some mail from breeders who want to "help" me with the bird. But this peacock is not getting off the place and I am keeping the young ones that look promising.

Do you know who it's parents are? Good luck developing this color. It would be interesting to see what the hens would look like. But since it is white how would the patterns be applied to it? After all white does work like a pattern. Maybe I am just over thinking this.

It is the peacock's tail that has the mildew looking green on it...the train is all white with the green eyes.
