BRAND NEW PEACOCK COLOR

For someone with so little interest you made a 280 word post.

I think he means that has all he needs right now and probley wouldn't go by even if was less than 30 miles away from you like me, I ain't interested in having any new birds and I wouldn't make a special trip either , well I might come see the white one you are risen if I was going to the woodworkers paradise anyhow.

For a guy with so little interest in my bird you really keep coming. OK, everybody that wants a photo that you can zoom in on and look at the eyes please send a request to: [email protected]

I am just fascinated that their might be yet another new color and with white, no less! I find it exciting and would like to offer encouragement for working on this.

Please keep us updated. I haven't anything but hope that this may come to absolution in another few years. I know it will still take years of hard work to get this going. Gosh, it makes my head hurt to think about all the different breedings, hatchings and years of waiting to see if a cock is going to have eyes like what you want and the hens will be what you need.

Good luck! I do wish you the best!

Thanks WestKnollAmy. I have already isolated 13 young White birds that look like good candidates to observe. They are white in their wings and tail but are a pale greenish underneath and on the back. And, they have a small area of faint pale green over each eye that appears to be on the skin under the feathers. With luck, it may not be so difficult to determine what's what.

I am still learning peafowl genetics but I would think this would have Java Green in the bloodlines. I am always trying to learn the pea genetics but have had them less than a year and in the middle of poultry genetics, as well, so learning all this with a very old brain is slower.

One day I will be most interested in reading how this came about and am thrilled to hear you have quite a few candidates for future breeding. Meanwhile, I am going to try and learn the more common breeding colors and patterns and by the time you are ready to put the info in print on how this came about I may actually be able to understand it.

I also am excited to see more photos when you get ready to show them. Especially a hen, since they seem to baffle me more than the cocks in coloring. I can not even wrap my brain around what a hen from this variety would look like!

That is what I did just now.
Doesn't appear to have Java in it but possibly some incredible silver pied genetics. Still learning and find this one fascinating. I better stick with learning the basics and hopefully in a few years I will understand more of the peas.

Silver pieds have white eyes... This is why this new color is confusing. You are correct about it not have any green blood in it.

I will stick to everything other than genetics. That is just too much info to understand. :/

I did fine with mammal genetics. However, poultry genetics is like trying to build a rocket to the moon for me right now. And peas are the supernova explained.
I am not sure if I am not just applying myself or have lost interest in genetics or what but poultry is not coming to me as easily as mammals did. Of course, there are a few hundred years in between learning mammal genetics and now.
