Topic says it all. I got my wife a pair of Juliana mini pigs for her birthday in Feb, and we're struggling with ideas on how to keep them from stealing the chicken feed and tipping over the water fonts. The flock free ranges in our backyard, and the pigs come and go in and out of the house through the dog door as they please. Currently I have a bucket feeder with 3 PVC nozzles for the hens to get feed out, but the pigs just tip it over or chew through the plastic, so it's not an effective deterrent. Tossing feed out for them to scratch up doens't work either, piggles just hoover it up. I thought about maybe getting a metal can and then chaining it to the porch or trees, would something like that work?
As for water, I've got 5 gallon double wall metal fonts and an auto waterer. Same issue there, the piggles knock the fonts over or tip the auto waterer upside down and it stops working. Not sure how to effectively chain up the fonts to keep them from getting tipped, and just no idea at all about the auto waterer.
Confining the chickens or the pigs isn't really an option, as it heats up they're going to need to be able to get to shade in the Arizona summer.
Anyone have any ideas?
