bread machines

I hated my bread machine so I gave it away and only use my stand mixer. I have a KitchenAid, but after several months of making bread daily the gears started wearing down and leaving metal shavings in my dough. Apparently that is common of the newer KitchenAids. So after lots of research I'm going to get a Bosch now. They seem to be able to withstand the abuse of the heavier dough everyday. They are a bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay more for something that is going to last more than a couple years.

I didn't like the bread machine so much at first, it took some tinkering with to adjust to my liking. I do like it now. Just put your ingredients in and go post on back yard chickens for a while and walla, fresh hot bread. I'd still like to have a stand mixer but so far haven't wanted to come off
the dough to get one.

ive come to like my bread machine for the other things it can do. Prepare dough, bake a cake, etc. My kids love my apple cake in the bread machine.

I made french bread in my new one last night. It tasted wonderful, however it rose to twice the heighth of the pan!!!!!!! That was the tallest loaf of bread I have ever seen!!!

I have a bread machine that also churns butter, makes pudding, jams, cheesecakes, funny little square cakes (like individual birthday cakes), fudge... I love it. I use it to make dough for cinnamon rolls most weekends. I bought it on Ebay for $45 (second hand but new) and it would have been worth three times that.

It's a Breadman Corner Bakery TR888. There is one on Ebay currently at $5!

I like making bread that isn't full of preservatives and other trash. I just put four or five ingredients in, start it and four hours later I have a perfect loaf of bread.

I got a new KitchenAid for Christmas which I love. It is so much more convenient to have something working that I can just throw ingredients into and keep my hands free. This is Dorothy (named because she's the colour of ruby slippers):

The dough is nice, the cat is "stringy" and the apple cake is FABULOUS!

The cat is stringy? Please tell me that is a typo.
