Breaking State Laws

All I need is Name and State, can find their NPIP # in seconds.

If I have the NPIP # Can find the person also, very easy

Online? If so, then please tell me what I am doing wrong because I cannot find people I KNOW have numbers because they advertise those numbers.

I click on the link to the list, insert the state. Then there are choices between hatchery, independent flock, etc. Then there is a third column with eggs, birds, meat, etc. Apparently I am filling something out wrong because, for example I know Bama Chicken is here in Alabama and has an NPIP number, yet I cannot find her! Ditto Pips & Peeps, and several others. Obviously I am guessing wrong on the classifications they are under, because mostly I find only one or two names. Like in Texas, I can find Ideal but not several other hatcheries that I know are in Texas and do have numbers. And there is no place online that I have found where I can just list a name and state and have it verify their number.

It is very frustrating. It is very difficult to buy eggs/chicks when I cannot verify the number. And I have had someone tell me they have a number but the eggs arrived without the right paperwork. I could not risk hatching them and adding them to my flock without the paperwork, so I gave them away. So far everything on my place is NPIP stock and I refuse to take any chances with unknowns.

Any suggestions?

Rusty, I received the book after I start testing, have not try on line.
It list all NPIP participants, of course the newer ones will not be in the book.(Directory)

Just check on the site took little longer to find myself. But it was listed. The on line site use the 2 letter of the state not the first 2 numbers.

Code letter type of bird. x =ducks y =geese then a number type of geese y5=pilgrim. Easier for me to check the book, of course I am not very good on the puter.

Thanks for the heads up, I am actually breaking multiple laws, will break another one in a few days when I set my eggs, as I am not allowed to incubate without certification. But, I will be calling today to find out about getting certified. We had been meaning to do this anyway as a lot of our birds are sold to individuals who take them across state lines.
