Breda Fowl thread

I only had one aggressive roo, a silkie years ago. Everyone I've had since is not aggressive. I just meant she gets roos from alot of people up here, and she gets an occasional bad one

I candled some of the eggs I got from rfr they look really good I can see veins and a small chick developing inside haven't candled them all tho cause they go through so much inside a egg during shipping I don't want them to get too shook up when I'm candleing them

Haven't candled all 18 yet I have a cabinet incubator and I have a good many eggs in the tray the Breda eggs are in and to take all of them out and pull the trays out would take awhile I'll just wait till lockdown when I move them to candle them

I don't worm any of mine using garlic either i use worming capsule pills to give them I get them from a breeder who breeds gamefowl it's call patts old time chicken wormer he sales it on eBay too sometimes it's really good stuff never had any worms u only give them every 3 months after giving them the pills

Yes, wormers for chickens specifically is the best way and usually a few times a year. Wild birds bring in all sorts of parasites when they visit the yard so you can never be parasite-free. We are inundated with the non-indigenous aggressive House Sparrrows -- I've managed to cut down the populations by having nipple valve waterers and treadle feeders for the chickens but the Sparrows are still a terrible bane in the yard. They take their lice baths in the chicken's dust box, they steal feathers out of the coop for building their nests, they hang around the chicken's mister -- Just impossible to keep a pest-free yard with wild birds around. I have to net my raised garden beds so they don't pick off my budding harvest before the plants get established.

.

Whatever you do don't give them away free. As much as I hate to see it, you'd be giving away a free dinner to someone else. Better your own dinner table than free to someone else's but I'm sure you already know that. GL!
