RH and Lisser... what age were yours when you got a crow?


Hmm, I can't remember exactly how old he was when he started to crow - I know that he was the 3rd one to start crowing - I think it might have to do with their place in the pecking order in addition to their age. I have 3 other cockerels the same age (and 2 that are bigger than him) that still haven't started crowing, and they are lower on the pecking order.

I agree, too bad you can't keep one or both. Our BR/EE cross is a nice dude. He calls the others to food and also tries to call somebody to nest (not sure who he's calling since the cockerels are separate from the pullets now!).

Okay, the boys are now out with Miss A... that was one hot trip, so I hope they're okay. Poor little guys.

Oh and a full belly courtesy of Miss A's home cooking certainly added another yummy layer of comfy.

So, all's well here... CE can't be a pain... life is good.

Beer is doing well. Brie is doing better. We've keeping them in overnight to make sure they are both over the heat. Poor Baked Brie. I finally got him to drink some sugar water and he's looking more lively.

It was very warm today in Texas. it's finally down to 93 F.

I really enjoyed the time with Pineapplemama and her family. We're going to have to do it again some time. Today's menu wasn't all that healthy but I enjoyed it. Homemade sloppy joes, cantaloupe, and fried homegrown red potatoes. The beef was home grown too. Thanks for bringing the boys back.

Well, we definitely have one confirmed rooster. Beer heard all my roosters crowing this morning and just couldn't stand it. He had to crow. Bree hasn't crowed yet.
