What Breed do you think the black hens are?
And is this light barnyard mix a rooster? Really uncooperative when it comes to having its photo taken. Thank you .

Hens may be Black Australorps. Don't think the light colored bird is a cockerel, but the two to the right of it appear to be.
Thank you southland. The 2 next to the light one are Cockerels. I incubated 12 eggs and those 3 made it out of their shells. Nice to know 1 isn't a rooster.

I was curious about the hens breed. Thanks so much.

Here are a few more of the bird in question

This bird hatched April 17 2022

My Easter Hatch boys all have their pointy saddles and hackles.

Can you get a photo of the saddle area with your hand or a piece of paper under the feathers so we can see the true shape?

For difficult to handle birds I take photos at night, picking them off the roost and using the flash. A headlamp with a red light doesn't mess up the pictures. :)

The bigger birds are new and just regrowing their feathers. They are much larger than my 2 roos and have no worries from them. As soon as I decide which one, a visit to freezer camp is in order.
