Breed and gender help!

He is looking like a cockerel to me, actually.
And yes, you will need some friends for him. You can search Craigslist for a few pullets or hens. Do you have a coop @Hawksmama09?

@TheOddOneOut
The tail feathers are rounded, not sickle feathers, so it's probably a hen.
But still, I see your point All4Eggz because of the few pointy feathers in the photo.
If it's a boy, do NOT get another rooster, Hawksmama09.

If the cock is not introduced to other hens, I don’t see why she can’t get another cockerel.
Many people have all bachelor coops.
The problems only occur when the roosters fight over the hens. If it’s just two cocks, they have nothing to fight over.

Now I don’t see why someone would rather have 2 roosters over 1 hen and a rooster, but I’m just saying it’s very possible.

Good point.

For breed, it looks like an Easter Egger.
It's hard to tell age... but it looks like a fairly young cockerel to me. Are you able to take more photos with different angles @Hawksmama09?
Here is a picture from the top... The feathers do look pointy now that you mention it.

We plan on getting 2 hens to keep it company whether it's a rooster or not... He/she is just the sweetest and was really grateful for being rescued so either way we're keeping it. 😁

Like I said if it's a rooster we're keeping it but I would like some egg laying hens. 😊

Great. I’d say it’s for sure a cockerel. Where are you planning to get pullets for him?
We've got a friend who has some pullets that he's willing to give us... BUT at the same time I'm really enjoying the temperament of this Easter Egger and my son would love the fact that the eggs are colored. Any idea where I can find Easter Egger pullets?
