Hi everyone. New chicken owner here. We purchased 4 golden comets and two bantams. They are about 6-7 weeks old now and of course now I’m suddenly a chicken nut!
I’m curious what breeds our bantams are. I figured someone on here would know! I don’t have a great picture of the white one. But he/she also has feathered feet.
Thanks!

Feather feet are usually Brahmas. They are very people oriented. I had one that would come when her name was called lol.
While Brahma bantams do have feathered feet, these chicks have single combs, while Brahmas have pea combs. These chick varieties are also not found in Brahmas in the US to my awareness :) These chicks are Booted Bantams

mille fleur and porcelain poor quality (hatchery quality) d'uccle. they dont have muffs so some would call them booted bantams but in reality they are just low quality d'uccles.
Great point, I missed the lack of muffs/beard 😳 Do you happen to know the differences between D'Uccles and Booted Bantams beside beard/muffs. I know most every hatchery just carries D'Uccles, but many birds come out without beards. I always kind of assumed that they were either not properly selecting breeding birds or mixing the two breeds. I typically just call the beardless ones Booted Bantams. I'll have to pull out the SOP to check if there's anything like weight differences between the two. I have been thinking about this for a while actually :)

i do not, thats just it, many hatcheries dont pay attention to quality and simply use every bird they hatch as breeders.
