BREED CHECK please and sex guesses...

I use the extra large legbands from Amazon. And I only use them on chickens of the same breed that I can't tell apart! Most of mine are unbranded now. Did you get the chickens for egg production or are you planning on letting them go broody and raising more for you?

We use them bc we have 6 kids and we know whos is whos and what the name is based on the bands

@RoostersAreAwesome any breed guesses here!?!!
My guesses are above. They could definitely change as the chicks grow.

7 weeks is okay, for some breeds. Definitely for sapphire gems. Right about perfect timing.
I wanted to add that it makes it easier on gender identifications with people like you. Some people like to post at 4 weeks, or 1-2 weeks. That only works for sexlinked or color sexable breeds (I KEEP forgetting the name for that!!). It’s not accurate enough when they are too young. Especially at 1-2 weeks. At four weeks, obvious cockerels may be differentiated, but they are usually too young.

So far they all look like pullets, but they are still young, so they may still be slower developing males

Any guess on breeds!? One i have been concerned with is squishg. All the other 6 feathered and tailed out much faster. Squishy also got stepped on when very young so we are just surprised it survived....big momma was taking care of it the whole time though!
