I was given some eggs by someone who said they were purely ameraucana. Not knowing much about that breed I'm gonna trust that that's what I was given.
I was wanting to find out if the chick was a true ameraucana and if so what color would she be when she was fully grown?
Also, she is only 2 days and I was wondering if there was a way to check her gender without venting. Is the wing test reliable, and if so is it reliable at such a young age. Thank you!

It could be either a Blue Wheaten or a Buff Ameraucana.

(There is no such breed as Americana).

It appears to have proper beard/muff and a pea comb.

Only time will tell if it feathers into one of the standard 8 colors for Ameraucana. If it doesn't, then it automatically is considered an Easter Egger.

Cute chick, btw. Good luck with him/her.

All I can quote is from the Ameraucana Breeder Association's web page....and the Wheaten and Blue Wheaten, ETA and Buff, clearly do not have slate legs as chicks...but do as adults.

Chick leg color and adult leg color can definitely vary as the bird grows.
