These are just some backyard varieties, hatched out of incubators. Some I know are hens, as they're laying, but I'm curious of their breeds. The solid white one is the survivor of the dog attack and I was hoping it was a pullet, it chirps like a pullet.....but I don't know.

They are all crossbreds. First two are cockerels, other four are pullets.
Crud, I was hoping the white was a pullet, since the cockerels in that group (about18-20 weeks) are crowing & have their long tail feathers already

Age?
But I can say the white, the two barred are cockerels, the two black birds and he brown in the second to last pic are pullets.
18-20 weeks.

Thanks y'all!

18-20 weeks.

That changes everything!!!!!!!
I totally change my answer!!! The age is the most important thing when your asking about gender in young chickens! You see how a pullet that age can look like a cockerel at 10 weeks....
If they're ALL 18-20 weeks then they're all pullets.

The white one & the black crested looking one are 18-20 wks.
The little barred rock & the little black one are probably 12-14 wks.
A couple of the others are grown.
I have bantam & full size chickens, plus mixes between the two.

if they're all 18-20 i'd say pullets, yeah :)
I'm sorry I should have given ages with the photos.:th
I hate when the pullets go through that awkward long leg "I might be a rooster" phase! It makes it hard to tell what's what.

I'd say that second one "the light barred one" is a cockerel.
I think you're right, he's cute though...
Here is a hatchmate of that one

Where did you get their eggs? Are they birds from your flock?
They are from mine & my brothers flocks, he gifts me with a dozen eggs every now and then. I pop them in the bator!!! What pops out is like Christmas, always a surprise, got a whole batch of crested feather heads, roos & pullets from his batch. I had 5 broody bantams this summer that gifted me with 30 babies as well!!!:barnie
One just hatched out 10 last week!
Another has 6 eggs, due to hatch next week. I've got chicks running out my ears!!!:barnie

Ok... So anybody who's in that 12 week range, with a big red comb, is a cockerel. Of the older group, you have to look at the feathers.
Cockerels will always get their combs and wattles first, and get that bright color. As they mature, they will add to it their male saddle feathers, which the younger ones will be growing at any point.
