Breed I.D. Assistance Request

I am fairly new to BYC, I acquired a small established flock of 3 Rhode Island Red hens and 2 Rouen duck hens a few months ago and recently one of my neighbors brought me 2 young chicks which had been gifted to him but he needed to re-home.

They are now about 5-6 weeks old and unfortunately I see one is a cockerel which I will need to re-home, but my question is can anyone assist me in identify the breed? The neighbor told me he thought they were Rhode Island Reds, but as they feathered out I began doubting that. They are much lighter than my full grown RIRs, more golden.

They could be new hampshires.

Could be New Hampshire Reds. They are both cockerels.

I see what you mean by golden, but I think that they're still a chicken breed that comes in "red." That's still too dark to be "buff."
