Breed ideas?

Hello!
I am looking to become a chicken owner myself. (I have siblings who own some) and I was wondering what breeds would be best! I had chickens when I was a kid but I remmeber them being very aggressive towards eachother. I am looking to get 6-10 hens who will be able to free range a little. I live in Maryland so they need to tolerate a fair bit of cold and heat. I would like to get many different breeds and a rainbow of egg colors!

Here are my top 10 fave breeds. All of the following are good foragers, layers, and hardy.

Naked Neck
Easter egger
Whiting True Blue
Cochins
Ameruacanas
Rocks
Brahmas
Wyandottes
Polish

I may have a slightly biased opinion, but chochins are amazing. Super called hardy and the friendliest little birds. Other birds that I like are Brahms’s, partridge rocks, speckled Sussex! Also when you are getting chickens it usually says if they are flighty or not. And that’s a good way to tell if they will be mellow! Best of luck, owning chickens is super fun!!
