BREED of these 4 wk old barred chicks...maybe MARANS?

Bought these at a trades-day - my two year old just couldn't live without 'em. The seller had the guy in the next tent watching her stuff while she was getting lunch. The guy didn't know what kind of chicks she had, but they looked like some barred rocks I'd had before. Problem is...

They have pink/white legs (not yellow like BRs), with a VERY faint dark-colored streak down the front of the shank.

Who'd like to take a stab at it???

My guess would be that the top one is female and the bottom one is male.

i have both barred rocks and marans and i would have to say they are marans so you will have beautiful dark brown eggs. enjoy them

I just saw some Maran chicks a few weeks ago and they looked just like that.

1st one - girl
2nd one - boy

I'm guessing they are Marans.

With their leg coloring I'd say they're Marans, although my Cuckoo roos are much lighter colored than the second one who's comb looks like a roo.

I'm betting marans, I had two batches of chicks I raised last season so thats my bet too! Have fun they are GREAT chickens and very very pretty eggs!
