Okay breed owners--I have purchased a couple of breed selections for meat birds. More specifically, black jersey giants and black rocks. I know these are not cornish x and will not market as fast, but we dont care. To us its more about the taste and flavor than the speed in which we can fatten them up. The giants take quite a while to grow, so we have read, to harvesting weight which is allright with us. The black rocks we are not sure about. When will these breeds reach there maximum weight or when is it best to harvest them?? How do these breeds fair for table fare as far as taste quality? Have read they are suited for both eggs and meat. Hope they taste good!
