Agree it's the color. You won't really find a male bird colored like that.
Plus, at 4 months, you'd have more comb development and color to the comb.
You'd also have saddle feathers....on the pic of the rooster above, they're the reddish-gold long, pointy feathers draping down in front of his tail. Only males get those.
