Breed Science-- making a new breed.

I didn’t hear them say they were breeding now……. I believe ( could be wrong) that Mutchi just needs the idea, she’s starting the “ thinking and writing “ process of creating a new breed. They just need ideas.

I believe when @Mutchi was thinking about breeding an owl to chickens, or whatever else, they were thinking about the whole, Birds of a feather idea. Not a big, thing really.

I figured they just wanted to make a breed that resembles the head/face of an owl, a similar body type. They also want long flowy tail feathers.

I'm pretty sure that they wanted the size aspect at first. That's also why they wanted to breed a chicken to a turkey.

Size, yeah, they were talking about muscularity. That can be made by breeding specific chicken breeds together. Like Malay, or Cornish Game. Sumatras are pretty muscular as well, one reason I suggested using them.

I even for awhile wanted to breed chickens to Turkeys, until I read about the mortality rate among male embryos, & how female, & males suffer from mental retardation.

I have been thinking of a new breed. It's a breed were mostly all roosters are the muscular, brave ones we all like. I want to hear your opinions. I'm hoping good opinions.... I have only so much breeds to start with. I will first need a large rooster to start. I currently don't have. I want to call it the BFG (big friendly giant. Totally not based off of a movie)
The common white broilers we eat are already the breed you speak of. Try raising 6 roo specimens until they’re 2.5 years old you’ll see for yourself. They reach their true form at the age of 2 but reach sexual maturity within 8 months. Once your 6 specimens are at least 2 years old pick the biggest and bulkiest one you like and cook or sell the rest. Then find a big female brhama or shamo for him to mate with and hatch the eggs it’ll be a good surprise. I assure you that 60% of the chicks won’t disappoint.

The common white broiler avaliable in stores are CornishX. Not an actual breed not a hardy bird in general.
