I had a broody hen and a coworker knew a woman who had about 40 chickens or so and she gave me 4 fertilized eggs. 3 hatched and voila! I have a rooster and 2 hens. They are 5 months old. So far he's been friendly to me and my six older hens are beating him up!!

In that case, I would probably just call him a marans mix, unless you know that he hatched from a green/blue egg
