Looks like a white rock to me. Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe a california white. How old? Looks like a girl so far.

Looks like a pullet. I'm pretty sure that you have a white rock, but you won't know until you start laying-white eggs=california white, brown eggs=white rock.

Here is "Laverne," a Lavender Orpington. She just turned 6 weeks. We are hoping she is a "she." It may be too early to tell. I have looked through many sites to determine the breeds I have. It's a little confusing.

She is in fact a lavender orpington. I *think* that she is a she (lav orps are early combers) but if 'her' comb starts getting redder, and those wattles start growing more and turning red, you may have a cockerel on your hands. Do you have other chicks that you're unsure about the breed?
