Hi there! Yes, they do look a little frazzled when they first hatch and that's normal. I can't tell you the breed, though, because many many breeds start out looking like that with the chipmunk stripes, and especially since it could be a mix there's no good way to narrow it down until it starts to feather in. I will say that you probably want to take that newspaper out and replace it with paper towels, because the slippery surface of the newspaper could cause the chick to develop splayed legs. Good luck with your baby! If it's the only survivor you should give it a mirror or a stuffed animal or a feather duster to cuddle with and it will be much happier :)
 
Thanks for the info I wanted to put something else for bedding and am changing it now. We are also currently also getting it something snugly.
