BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

lpatelski those are fabulous numbers, what are they? Are they specifically for poultry? Where did you get them?

OOps never mind found the post where you said what they were. I'll see if I can source them in Canada.

Why bother? Support your BYC fellow breeder!! Even if you can 'source' then in the 51st State, they would likely cost more than ordering from Linda!!!

Maybe....... I would except for that strange border and different money thing that separates the 51st from the other 50 states- it would cost more to post, there are export forms to get and fill in, and I seriously doubt she has any use for Loonies!

Picking up here too, right on time and catching me without my breeding/brooding pen completed from the most recent tweak. I did manage to give them some animal protein in preparation for breeding....picked up a young, fresh roadkill deer yesterday and brought it home for the dogs and chickens. They are all full as ticks this morning, half the deer already consumed.

ALL you have to do is take a vacation... Easy peasy! Don't know how you would get them back across but at least you would have a great vacation.

Well egg production is picking back up yesterday I only got one egg today I got three

I got 29 eggs from 32 layers yesterday.

Oh...and I now have two broody hens. Why couldn't they have gone broody BEFORE I put all the eggs in the incubator? I may give each of them some of my White Rock's eggs to hatch out.

That's hitting the theme for this thread for sure! and that's chickens for ya lol!

Chick ID Hack.
How many of us would like to identify our chicks individually so we can follow their growth from birth?
Too expensive...yep. I found every type of id product out there.
They were either too expensive or not practical for growth from birth to adult:

Bandettes: $0.50 to $0.75 cents each - you would need 5 to 6 sizes for each bird

Numbered zip ties: $6.95 for 25

Toe punch- yucky

So I searched and found this; put them on zipties and instant chick ID!

But you still have to replace them every so often. I think I'll stick with my $.08 wing bands.
