They're your chickens , if you want to purchase a Light Sussex roo to breed this half breed LS to you should go for it . You can select her eggs to hatch and breed them back to a pure LS , hatch those eggs and breed them back to a pure LS and start choosing only those that appear to be LS in type and character if you want . In my opinion you should not sell any of these eggs or chicks as LS untill 5 generations and you have stable colors and type ; but you could call them a Light Sussex cross . If your getting quality LS roos to use back on your new generations , it won't be long before its possible to be raising better LS than some hatchery chicks you could order . If you have sentimental attachments to your first LS hen , breed away and save her descendents for your personal pleasure . For those who point out they aren't ever going to be pure , just agree with them ; but if you're useing a pure LS roo on each new generation and keeping only the ones back for hatching that " look like " LS , your flock will be at least as pure or more so as those of anybody that's started a new project variation of an established breed and bred for the same number of years .
