my baby chick's name is Starlah, and the other two are Stevia, and Lydia, but I guess if Lydia is a boy it will be Lyonal.

I have more in this incubator, I had to confess to hubby I am hatching "even" more out due on the 18th.

I just spoke to my DH about raising our turkey for next year and that I want to breed heritage birds.
He actually responded favorably; he said that he likes the idea of breeding heritage birds, even if only because it's preserving something.

I get my birdies! I get my birdies!!!
I like projects. lol

So, my projects are these:
- Breed Jersey Giants (have a brood hen, need a roo)
- Breed Bantam Cochins (have a frizzle hen, need a smooth roo)
- ??? Breed Plymouth Rocks (have a roo on the way, need a hen)

To do any brooding or breeding in the spring, I need to repair and referbish my original coop into brooding spaces. I also have plans in mind for a double breeding pen.

They are fun and easy and anyone can make them. I have chicken people in my area are lining up to buy some. If you go to methownet.com then go to the bulletin board I am on there on the 1st or 2nd pg under small homemade incubators, if you want to read more about them.
