Got a faverolle egg today and was seriously tempted to hatch it out, since I am about 90% sure it is fertile. But I decided to wait till spring.

I WANT SPRING!

Poor Sally and mother of george, We got her about a month ago and I thought she fit into the coop beautifully. She was brave enough to roost right away, she would peck other chickens if she got mad. She was more the bully, well some one must have had enough. I saw blood in the coop, knew nobody was attacked but didn't have time to find who was bleeding right off. I had birds to feed and water. I thought the roosters had a go with each other, so I checked out the other roo- he was not bloody, then I saw Sally....

this is george...

she was bleeding on her comb- I brought her in the house, put FLOUR on her comb to stop the blood. and warmed her up it was 10 degrees out. I gave her a bite of pumpkin pie- she didn't want much put her in a box to take a nap. I am going back to the coop to see if anyone else is just as bad.

Poor chickie girl.

I hope she bounces back alright. If she was top of the pecking order before you might want to check her thoroughly and keep a close watch on her to be sure there isn't something wrong that would cause the others to attack her or to make her unable/unwilling to defend herself.
