There's not too much to read on this newer breed! I am breeding these guys for fun and noticing some of them are very light and others are very dark and that their body shapes are even pretty different. Does this breed not breed true? Anyone have some pictures they could share?

Anyone know what I would need to breed to "get" something like a sapphire gem.

I bought them from the company that developed them and they were labeled as sapphire gems, but yes they are the same thing
Multiple hatcheries claim to have "created" the Sapphire Gem/Plymouth Blue Rock/etc. In reality, they are a sex-linked hybrid ... and those rarely, if ever, breed true. The way I understand it, only that first-gen cross creates the true sex-link coloring. After that, the offspring will be mix-matches of the original two breeds ... and gender-guessing is the name of the game all over again!

I believe they are actually called Plymouth Blue Rocks, I have two pullets.
Yup. At least they aren't trying to pass off EE's as Americanas lmao. Happens at TSC all the time.
Well the company you got yours from are trying to pass them off as Plymouth rocks which is worse then calling EEs americanas.

Actually the hybrid was created oversees. Hoover's supposedly imported parental stock eggs to start their breeding lines.
The closest breeds you can use is a splash andalusian rooster over barred rock hens.

My BPR were sold as BPR. My EE were sold as Americanas.
