Breeding silkied Cochin bantams to the Standard

Pics
Better than I have been. Poor Colt got like 1 picture of the eggs he sold me and it's hatch day now

Oof, yeah, though thankfully there isn't a whole lot to take pictures of during incubation unless you have a good candler... How is the hatch going so far?

I've got FOUR broodies as of today, and not enough eggs to go around for all of them. :th I don't want to put the eggs from the Blue group under a broody because if I hatch a Splash I need to have her in the brooder to love and admire and stare at 24/7. 🤭 So that cuts the number of available eggs down a bit. One broody is a Silkie who was broody-raised, so I'm thinking she for sure should have some eggs. She hasn't, herself, had the chance to hatch before, but I feel like being broody-raised kind of gives her an edge. Her niece is one of the other broodies, and then the last two broodies are two of the silkied Red Cochins. None of them have raised chicks, so beyond the first hen being broody-raised, no one has any experience. And it'd be stretching pretty thin to give them all eggs to sit on... So I'll have to think on who is best for the job. There is always the option of grafting the chicks from the eggs already in the incubator to them, I suppose, though I wonder if that will end up defeating the purpose of using broodies to increase my incubation capacity... 🤔 I have a few days to decide still if I'm setting on Sunday, so I'll think about it in the mean time.

Clue. 3 pips I'm 'aware of as of 6 hours ago. I've been at work since then. Had 11 going good last I checked about 6 days ago or so when candling
