Breeding to the Standard

Things are going to be slow until next spring, but I'm going to try and do an update on the PC soon. Also, I'm sure nobody would mind if I got more pictures of the bantam bunch, eh?
Is it too soon for a feather comparison update too?

One of the lighter pullets (Donna, I think) and Flash.

The females were inside for SLM treatment, so I grabbed Flash too and got a group picture.

I have never had a rooster calm down so completely and so fast before. He's better at being held than Jace is. He still doesn't like the action of getting picked up, though, but he relaxes quickly. Luna and Jace aren't sick, their tails are down because they had gotten positioned awkwardly by me and hadn't moved back to a normal stance.

Cuties! :love I'm beginning to suspect that's an OEGB thing. I've owned mine now for like a week and a half, and they both do the same. They hate being picked up, but are totally calm once there. I did their weekly quarantine checkup today (busy over the weekend or I would have done it on the week) and they were so calm. :love

Are you trying Ivermectin out for the SLM? I hope it works out! :fl

Even my other OEGBs are less than thrilled about handling no matter how long I hold them. He's something different.

Nope, trying the cream thing again. Apparently I have to apply it daily for over a week. :th
On a flock this size? That's over 200 applications. I think I'm gonna do the breeder stock and cull the layers in spring rather than treat them. I was going to soon anyway.
