I have a rooster and 3 hens. I bought them for breeding. So my first question is how often will i get fertilized eggs and my other one is how can i tell if its fertilized?

Usually after two weeks all the eggs should be fertile. It generally takes that long for the roo to get the hens in line

. To check the fertility, crack one open and there should be a small white thing/spot on the yolk.

If the rooster is willing and capable, and the hens are willing eggs should be fertile within 3 days after he has been introduced. Any eggs prior to that were already in process in the 'oviduct assembly line'. Do an on site search for 'fertile egg bullseye' to see what a fertile egg looks like.

Depends upon the breed - some hens never go broody. I have had silkies raise4 or 5 batches of chicks a year. Most broody breeds will raise two or three broods of chicks in a year.
