breeding

@ Mary of Exeter;

One parent is shown on the brake drum nest;

The female is solid white not a speck of colour.

In a perfect world I should be getting no colour from all my squabs.

The original parents are solid whites.

Ah. The original parents, one or both were probably white from piled on pied genes or homozygous ash red grizzles (whites with orange eyes). Anyway, they are pretty birds!

All my original birds were sold to me as white homing pigeons with Belguim blood lines. I only had one female that did not carry a band however both of its supposedly parents had bands and were solid whites. The parents were housed in a mixed loft with all types of breeds. What she was sold to me as and what it actually is could be two different things. I am more than happy with their homing instincts that is the main thing. A splash of colour now and again is something I am able to put up with.
