Breeds in Pepper...?

Thank you. I was particularly attached to the Barred Cochin. He died in my hands.

Yup, and Dr. Pepper occasionally too...

She did indeed. I'm surprised I managed to hatch three. They were very fragile.
Aw, I'm sorry about the cochin.
Spice lays almost white eggs too. They're very light cream.
She is a SLW X Bielefelder cross. (I think, lol)

I like rose combs too! Those and walnut combs. They don't get frostbite in our bad winters, and I think they're pretty.
Yeah!
A lot of people think they're ugly. :smack
Non-chicken owners, maybe.

Rose combs are my favourite. Especially on the cockerels, for some reason.

I re-homed one bird in all this time, a young Chantecler cockerel who decided my leg was a good thing to attack. He went to a nice place and got himself a few new girlfriends.

Fortunately I'm allowed cockerels now. I can happily be overrun.
My cockerel ratio is rather worrying at 4 boys to 8 girls. Suppose I'll just have to find some pullets.

What breeds do you have?

I've got polish, wyandotte, silkie, cochin and some mixed chicks of these, all bantams.

Luckily I have a neighbour who rehomes unwanted chickens and ducks so I've always got somewhere as a backup. Some of my chicks now are cockerels I suspect so that's where they will go. My hens/pullets will all live with me til they die (and my resident rooster, but I only keep one at a time).
