Breeds that you absolutely HATE

Also, I do think silkies have really ugly faces. I don't hate them by any means. Not a hater.

this is the first time I've been on here in a long time, Hatchery born Leghorns are as I quoted, awful.

Bantam Leghorns are quite nice if you constantly handle them a lot, bath them, carry them around.
this is my Demo bird and please don't do this to anyone else on BYC, you are looking for a fight.....this post is 4 yrs old, the thread is asking for what you don't like, and I answered.

this is Jiggy, my DD's show bird

Thx for answering me !

A hatchery Leghorn is usually a mix (ment for egg production), not a purebred. So temperament can be all over the place, good, bad, mean, flighty, egg eating from the start, skittish, nuts, flying themselves into walls (I've seen that). Private breeder birds still have flighty tendencies but are generally a nicer bird. I prefer Minorcas over Leghorn (they are both Mediteran class) minorcas are a bigger breed, not as inbred, and just as good or better layers.

The leghorn in the picture is mine we also have hens and breed them. bantam means small most bantam breeds are weighed in oz not lb. the silly boy in the picture is around 26 or so oz.
He actually sat still for professional pictures. A birthday gift for my Oldest. The photographer was amazed. he only poo'd once

I personally don't keep nutsy birds, and all my birds came from private breeders, that is my preference. When you keep over 200+ you keep what you like for me Lav Orphingtons, Minorcas, Splash Rocks, Black/Blue Langshans, Pure Ameracaunas, Booted, D'Uccles, Ga Noi, Silkies....others can come and go...I just got some bantam RIR's

I got on the Lav Orphington bandwagon before they became the IN thing

Old, dusty thread, " whoooooooph". There dusted off :) My litttle brown Leghorn(Chuck Norris) is lovely, not a pet,,,but will let me help her into the coop and is obviously so torn about coming on to me or not.
