I just got an email from a lady I used to work with, and it said there was a 9 foot eastern rattlesnake that weighed 97 pounds in GA!! They killed it!! I can't belive they did that, can imagine how old it was!! That hurt my heart!! How sad! I am afraid of snakes, but they could have taken it to wildlife place ore something!!!

Thank you, Wynette and Michelle!!! You both must have brought me luck because I found a woman who bottle feeds for a local cat rescue group to take the newborn!!! I just met her at the vet and she took him. I'm so thankful, I would not have been able to handle it for long! Now I can focus on the litter I already have.

Michelle, PLEASE post pics of the baby goat! I LOVE goats!!! Pat, yours is adorable! I'm glad your husband is doing better. Tooth pain is awful.

How sad that they killed the snake. Some people have no respect for non-human life. I hope they're house doesn't become overrun with rats because they'll just have them killed, too. I have a soft spot for rats!

The sad part is that the snake was living at an abandoned chicken house!! No one even lived around there!! I think that if lived this long and was not bothering anyone they could have at LEAST let it live out its years at a zoo, or a wildlife refuge!!! I know not too many people would want that big ole boy living around kids and animals (although he had been for years) but it should not been killed!! That guy was a beaut!!! They said the biggest one found before this one was 9 ft, but weighed 78 pounds! So this one blew the old record out of the water!!!

Betcha he had the rat problem under control!!!LOL
