If BSL was ever passed in your town you can say bye to those dogs. I think its stupid to ban a "breed". Owners should pay a hefty fine and jail time for being irresponsible and cruel not the poor dogs.

What is "breed specific legislation?"
Breed specific legislation is where government names dogs of a particular appearance to have different rules and regulations applied than other dogs. The term "breed specific" is not a particularly accurate term because often very often the name applied for the targeted dogs is a type, not a breed. For a well organized list of BSL by location look at Understand-A-Bull.

What's wrong with breed specific legislation?
There are many bad things about such targeted legislation. Do we really want to say that as a matter of law that it is both right and rational to treat groups differently based on their genetic background? If it is rational to treat dogs differently by breed, then it is rational to treat people differently by race. The logical basis is the same, but is it legitimate? It is unfair, and it is unwise for us to say that genetics alone is sufficient reason for different treatment. It is also generally inaccurate, especially when mixed breeds are included. My article on BSL is old, but the reasoning still holds (can't say whether the law on it does though, I haven't re-researched it). But instead of covering all the details here I'd rather point you to other places where you can learn more. Since passing the legislation the City of Denver has killed more than 1700 pits for no reason other than their breed.

Hey everyone! Man, am I tired. Partied a little (a lot!) too hard last night. Still got up and got lots done on the coop, though. Hopefully we can finish it by tomorrow.

BSL is ridiculous. Look up some of the BSL ordinances and look at how they define "pit bull". Nonsense. I'd lose all five of my dogs if they ever tried to pass it here.

Well, I just ordered a pizza. I need it to come NOW so I can eat and take a nice long nap. There's a tornado warning here tonight! Scary!

Well I went "shopping" today!! Got me some bantam Turken eggs, and some frizzle cochin eggs for FREE!!!!! Then I went and got me some more sebbies!!!YAY!!! They are seven weeks old and hate people. Oh well I will bug them till they like me. These are white and sooo pretty. There were five in a dog crate in the back of my car for like three hours. Talk about stink! whooooo. There would be "the noise" then "the smell" then little feathers flying all through the car!! It was sooo bad I was gaging all the way home. They were covered in poo when they came out of the crate ewwww. I kept two females and a friend took the rest. Here they are!
